Mohammed Abdo Tuko is Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at Addis Ababa University (AAU). He obtained his BSc (1980) in Electrical Engineering from AAU and MSc (1986) in Electronic Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, Italy and his PhD in Electrical Engineering (Communication Eng.) from the University Of Duisburg, Germany (1994). He served AAU in various capacities: Associate Dean of the Faculty of Technology (currently called Addis Ababa Institute of Technology (AAiT), Head of Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Program Coordinator in the Continuing Education Program at Faculty of Technology (FoT). He spearheaded the establishment of the AAU-Cisco Networking Regional Academy at AAU in 2004. In his professional career development, Dr. Mohammed has participated in numerous research activities, seminars, workshops and capacity building programs related to Electrical/communication Engineering in several countries. He has also organized seminars and workshops to promote the electrical and computer engineering profession and developed need based training programs for various public institutions and industries. He has initiated several international and national partnerships in teaching and research and is recipient of several and research award of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Dr. Mohammed has authored and co-authored many publications in his research area in peer- reviewed national and international journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Mohammed was a member of the Executive Committee of the Ethiopian Society of Electrical Engineers. He also served as Chairperson of the Electro-Technology technical committee of the Ethiopian Quality and Standards Authority and as active member of the National Industry, Science and Technology Council of the Ethiopian Science and Technology Commission. Dr. Mohammed is a Fellow of the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences.

His major research areas of include EM radiation effects, fractal antennas, smart antenna beam forming, MIMO systems and cognitive radio.

Ephrem Teshale Bekele received the BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from Bahir Dar University, Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, in 2007, the MSc degree in Telecommunications Engineering in 2011, and the PhD in Information and Communications Technology in 2015 both from the University of Trento, Trento, Italy. He has worked as an Assistant Lecturer in Bahir Dar University, from 2007 to 2009. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Addis Ababa Institute of Technology (AAiT) in Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. He is also a visiting lecturer at Bahir Dar University, Bahir Dar, Ethiopia.

He is currently a member of the Applied Electromagnetic Research Group in AAiT. His main research interests are Electromagnetic Nondestructive Testing, Technology ‘Domestication’, and RF Regulation.
